About us

We wanted to create a counseling and neurofeedback practice that felt comfortable, safe, and welcoming to all. Cognizant is located in a house that has been modified into meeting spaces and located on 1.25 acres of land in San Tan Valley. We are located on a quiet street, tucked away from traffic and noise.  We also recognize that animals can provide comfort and positive support to individuals, so animals will gradually be added to the stables on the property.

Neurofeedback is a scientifically supported treatment that has been inuse for over 50 years. It has gained more attention and popularity as more individuals seek alternatives to medication.

Family
counseling

Parents often become overwhelmed or feel defeated when everything they have tried is not working with their child. We are able to meet with the parents and child to examine the thinking patterns and emotions that are driving the negative interactions. When we can identify negative thinking patterns and their subesquent emotions, we can then work to change them for better outcomes.

CBT-AR
ARFID Therapy

Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder or ARFID is an eating disorder, but requires very different treatment than other eating disorders. Individuals with ARFID are not concerned with body size or image. Their eating issues are based on sensory sensitivites, fear of an adverse reaction, and or little interest in eating.
